On Sunday Mantown really got started. Though we spent several months planning and discussing ideas we found out pretty quick that we didn't really have any clear goal for the day or a clear vision of what we were doing. For starters, I managed to completely bend a hammer trying to remove some wood anchored to the wall. Also, It turns out that paint tape doesn't work to hang up plastic sheeting on cold concrete walls. Dave had the great idea to staple the sheeting up, but soon found out that my staple gun was missing parts. Luckily, I own the only tool you really need, duct tape. We wound up duct taping the shit out of it and it worked perfectly.

| Real men hang plastic sheets in fours. |
| Most of us haven't quite figured out how the paint hat works. |
Things said within first 20 minutes of Mantown:
Dave, "So when can we play beer pong?"
Things that were said/happened within the first hour of Mantown:
- Gasket on paint sprayer fails and paint begins shooting out the side of the machine on a perfectly good TV stand. Luckily, Adrienne had covered it with plastic because somehow we managed to overlook it
- We discover that the paint for the bar is an unfortunate shade of brown. Steg, "It looks like crap, but if that's ok with you then that's fine." Jimbo backs up Steg with a more descriptive line about the color of the paint that I will not repeat.
- We run out of paint. Adrienne and Alicia proceed to go buy more. When Adrienne explains that we underestimated, the Home Depot guy responds "Well if you bought 5 gallons and you're coming back for 10 more gallons I'd say you underestimated all right." And then he laughs.
- Adrienne forgets to purchase gasket.
- Dave and I run to Home Depot for gasket.
- We watch the second half of Texans-Ravens game.
After the game....
| Dave did the second coat, there was no crack or crevice left uncaked with a large amount of paint. |
| Dave would defend his style of painting while the rest of us frantically got brushes and rollers to wipe the rivers of paint dripping from the ceiling. |
| We went with IU crimson for the walls. |
| Steg has a unique painting style. |
| Semi-finished product |
| There really wasn't supposed to be a theme but apparently Mantown is also White Stripes town. |
| There was some debate over what to do with the wires.... |
| And by debate I mean that I accidentally painted one and then just kept going to hide my mistake. |
| Second half of mantown, waiting for paint. |
| Notice the incredible table patiently waiting for Mantown to open. |
Tomorrow we should have the carpeting installed....
